Plan to arrive at Indore, MP India at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport  (IATA: IDR, ICAO: VAID) or  the Train Station in Indore  on the morning of when you book your flight.  I have reserved a car service to pick up my guests at the Airport or Train in Indore.  So Indore, Madhya Pradesh (central India) is your destination by plane or train.

If you don’t have a travel agent in mind, I can recommend Suma Travels based in NY who can book you by phone/email securely. They are an Indian-American company who has been doing this for 4 decades and know all the ins and outs of booking to India.  Emirates and Etihad have had great prices lately. I recommend to get your international flight to a major airport like Delhi or Mumbai.  THEN, you will likely save up to $150 or more round trip by booking your domestic flight separately. Example: GoIndia and Jetairways have flights all day from either city to Indore for approx $50-70. round trip.  It is secure to book through their websites. These typically cost $200 when booked as a connecting flight along with your international flight.

Your final destination is Maheshwar, a small rural town where our car will take you directly to the Maheshwar Palace’s Labboo’z Gatehouse Guest Lodge.  I is a 3 minute walk from there to the River Ghat and the host location, SwAr Ashram.

Once you have your travel dates, flight info and time of arrival, aimed for the morning of 13 December,  contact me so that I can arrange your car to pick up at the airport in Indore.

Target date of your second deposit is to be paid by 30 of June, 2017, if it hasn’t been already.  These 2 deposits can also be paid in one payment at original time of booking – see schedule above for room choices which vary the cost.

The balance is due on arrival in rupees . Unfortunately, I cannot take cheques. Paypal/credit card is a last resort and subject to fees.  You can do money exchanges at the airport.  Also, there are ATMs everywhere, make sure you have an international type credit/debit card.  20,000 rupees ($307.69/- euro 273.76 at the time of this writing) is the maximum allowance per day withdrawl. One ATM stop should cover more than the balance on arrival.

It is said that of the five most sacred rivers of India – Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, Godavari and Kaveri, Narmada is the holiest. in accordance with the Shiva Purana, she is Shiva’s Daughter. It is also said that when Ganga herself feels need for a holy bath of renewal and rebirth, she takes the form of a black cow and using the darkness of the night as her cover, comes to cleanse herself in the waters of the Narmada, returning to her own banks as a white cow in the morning. Hindustanis from all over the world flock to this hidden gateway for spiritual renewal.
